Taos premiere of Mabel Dodge Luhan film, Awakening in Taos

The long-awaited Taos premiere of the biographical documentary Awakening in Taos: The Mabel Dodge Luhan Story happens at 7 p.m. this Friday, April 29th, at the Taos Community Auditorium. This is the extended, theatrical cut of the upcoming documentary for PBS. The broadcast version of the film is currently in post-production.

Mabel & Company Now a Book

Hot off the press! The Mabel Dodge Luhan and Company: American Moderns and the West book is now available. Beautifully designed with numerous color illustrations, the 220-page book reads like a work of fiction. Except that it’s not.

Between the covers, art historians Wanda M. Corn and MaLin Wilson-Powell introduce Mabel and discuss her impact on American modernism and culture. Americanist Lois Rudnick tackles the arts patroness as catalyst. And journalist Carmella Padilla scrutinizes Anglo patronage through the lens of Hispano art and culture.

Karen Young Memorial Service, Mabel Dodge Luhan House

The family of Karen Sue Young cordially issues an invitation to attend an informal party on Saturday, March 26, 2016 (2:00-5:00 pm), honoring the life of their beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt.

Family members will be on hand to share memories and photos in Karen’s Room in the new Yoga and Meditation Building, located just off the parking lot adjacent to the stairs leading up to the Mabel Dodge Luhan House.
